Proposed Changes to admissions 2016/17
We’re currently consulting on proposed changes to our admissions arrangements from September 2016 and we wanted to tell you what might be different in the future.
The consultation runs from 15 December 2014 – 9 February 2015.
Firstly, how you apply for a place at our academy is not changing, you will still apply using the application form from your Local Authority. You will also find out in the same way as before if your child has got a place at the academy.
From September 2016, we are looking to simplify the oversubscription criteria to ensure that it is straightforward and that priority is given to children living within the local community.
If there are more applications than there are places at each academy available, we are proposing to give preference to children according to the following rules (in this order of priority):
1.    Looked after Children (current and previously).
2.    Children living permanently at the same address as a child attending the academy at the time of their admission.
3.    Children living closest to the academy based on walking distance.
You can see the full proposed new admissions policy here.
If you have any comments please phone Catherine Pollard on 0121 632 2343 or email before 9 February 2015.
